The idea for The Crop Club was first initiated when Rose attended the Loughborough Service Design Jam in 2013. As part of a team we came up with the winning idea to get more people growing at home and encourage foraging with a mobile app.
We won two awards at the Loughborough University Think Big Business Idea award, the Social Enterprise award and an award of market research from Marketest. This was shortly followed by two awards from Unltd and HEFCE, the Try It and Do It awards.
In October 2014 The Crop Club was accepted into The Studio, a graduate enterprise hub at Loughborough University in order to develop the idea into a sustainable social enterprise.
