Talks and workshops

We can deliver hands-on workshops and talks on a variety of topics and for all ages. We have worked in schools, colleges, care homes, community centres and at festivals.

Our most popular activity is decorating compostable paper pots, making soil with coconut discs and sowing edible flowers or herbs. We add a plastic lid to make a greenhouse and ensure the seeds make it home safely. We give every participant full colour instructions and a bag to take their pot home.

We deliver talks on their own or combined with a hands-on workshop.

We can create talks for your audience, topics could be:

  • Why The Crop Club exists (e.g. food waste/food security/seed shortages/wellbeing benefits/modern agriculture/loss of biodiversity)

  • Social Enterprises and similar business models

  • Sustainable materials and food-based material examples (e.g. pineapple leather, mushroom foam and orange peel wood)

  • The importance of the rainbow diet and the science behind natural food colours for healthy eating.
